State Caregiver Certification

As a licensed caregiver provider in Louisiana, Moore Care adheres to all mandated Louisiana Department of Health (DHH) licensing standards as outlined in the Louisiana Administrative Code. All Caregivers are required to possess DHH Direct Service Worker (DSW) certification. If you do not already possess this certification, we will educate you on:

  • Provider policies and procedures

  • Emergency and safety procedures

  • Recognizing and responding to emergencies

  • Clients’ rights

  • Detecting and reporting of abuse

  • Reporting critical incidents

  • Universal precautions

  • Documentation

  • Service Plan implementation

  • Confidentiality

  • Detecting signs of illness or impairment

  • Basic skills required to meet health needs

  • Management of aggressive behavior

  • Scald prevention

  • First Aid

While the list is thorough, the state mandated curriculum covers a lot of important topics and serves as an effective starting point for what Moore Care does.

DHH DSW certification is fully transferable. The training enables you to work anywhere within the State of Louisiana that requires caregiver certification.
